Antario is a celebration of the origin of Barolo. The labels of the Antario wines show the effigies of the lovers that gave birth to this legendary wine: Carlo Tancredi Falletti, marquis of Barolo, and Juliette Colbert, bridesmaid for Napoleon’s first wife. They first met at the French court, felt in love until they got married in 1806 and went to live in the castle of Barolo. Juliette became so fascinated by the magnificent land and potentialities, that decided to dedicate herself to make a wine that could even rival the French wines. She radically transformed the wines of Barolo, which were previously sweet. The Barolo became so popular among all of the European courts, that it became defined as “wine of kings, king of wines”.Antario wines are emblem of all the potentials and peculiarities of the Piedmont region.
